My son, Jared married Joan (from Chicago) in August 2011. Our entire family and members of the wedding family rented the Newport House for 4 days of celebration. As a decorator, I was initially impressed with how spacious and well decorated the houses were but soon was aware of how thoughtfully appointed they were. Thesolid, period construction was the perfect backdrop for this wonderful and important time for our family. Jared's dad is a chef and he was able, with help from Josh and Mike (accomplished gourmets themselves) to prepare fantastic meals for us -from breakfasts to cocktail parties on the back patio to the roast pork and broiled salmon rehearsal dinner. The kitchens were extremely well equipped. The guys had everything they needed. I had brought along my ipod with some special songs for the happy couple and was pleased to find a player. The wi fi was invaluable, especially at the end of our trip when we were anxious for information about flooding from Irene in our home state of Vermont. There was even a printer. I created the bridal and bridesmaid's bouquets and the laundry room, complete with large sink and stainless steel table were invaluable. The beds were very comfortable and appreciated after jam packed days...I even checked the maker of the pillows I liked them so much- Wamsutta. We had a fabulous time. Wonderful family time, so important as we are now spread all over the country. We are already talking about a reunion trip to Chicago (the boys all loved the proximity to Wrigley Field) and we would never consider any place but on of Teri's gorgeous houses. We can't wait to come back.

Hi Teri-
I think my dad let you know through the review process that we had a wonderful time staying at your property, but I just wanted to reiterate how comfortable we all were there - even (especially) the little ones!  What a gorgeous home and awesome location.  I was curious as to whether you are the artist?  I LOVE the flower print on the main level across from the front door...Thank you again, if we ever reunion again in Chicago we will look you up!!!!

“Elegant, modern, warm, and comfortable!”

My friends and I were planning our trip to Chicago for the Marathon and wanted to stay together instead of in separate hotel rooms. The photographs of the Addison Suite on Teri's website as well as the amenities provided sold us on renting her Guest House on Newport Avenue. When we arrived, we were thrilled as the photos did not do it justice! The furniture, paint colors, and decore are modern, classic, warm and elegant. We loved all the special touches that made us feel we were staying in a friend's home not a rental. The neighborhood is beautiful and quaint, with all the conveniences within a short walk...excellent food, great pubs, local markets, Starbucks, and the EL...all of which were conveniently described in the information binder Teri prepared. We all agreed that this is the Guest House we will return to when we visit Chicago again!!

"Helped create an amazing wedding weekend!"

We rented out two Chicago Guest Houses, the Newport Ave and Henderson St. properties, for friends and family visiting Chicago for our wedding. Both houses were beautiful - modern kitchens, incredibly comfortable beds, cozy living rooms - and it was so nice to hang out all together and be together for meals rather than in separate, individual hotel rooms. Teri, the owner/ manager, was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the process, from booking to checkout. On that Thursday, 35 of us (most of whom were staying at the guest houses) went to a Cubs game at Wrigley and it was so nice to be able to walk over to the field and not have to pay for parking. There are also a number of great restaurants in walking distance, as well as other things that came in handy: grocery stores, tailors, etc. Most of our guests weren't from Chicago and they really enjoyed being in this neighborhood in particular. We hosted our rehearsal dinner and an open mic night on Friday at the Newport house, and it worked great. We used the grill in the backyard and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. Overall, we had an amazing time and can't recommend these houses and Teri enough!

Top of the Line Home in a GREAT Location

My family stayed in both units of this house and it was perfect for a large group who needed a lot of space. We loved the location - close to lots of attractions/restaurants/bars and blocks from public transit. The house was top of the line, the decor was beautiful, and the units were furnished with all the amenities that make it feel like home (coffee, spices, grill, laundry, etc). The owner provided a guidebook that had all the information you would ever need as a visitor to the city.

Home Away From Home

My Family of six thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Clark Suite. This place had everything we needed and was within walking distance of great shops, restaurants, wrigleyfield, the train, and groceries. Basically anything you needed was within 4 blocks. We drove from southeast Iowa, parked in the garage, and the van never left those 3 days. The Suite was very clean, and tastefully decorated. We loved the kitchen and grill/patio area out back. The neighborhood is quiet and very pretty! We can't wait to plan our next trip, and we would stay at any of Teri's homes when we travel to Chicago next. She is great to work with! Everything was easily understood and she has thought of every answer to any question you might have. Teri provided a huge binder of nearby restaurants (most with menus), Chicago attractions, transportation maps, etc. It was very helpful and we used it a lot! Would recommend this suite to anyone! Love it here.

“Beautiful home, great location”

We loved staying at the Chicago Guest House. It is a beautiful building, offered many amenities, and was comfortable for all of us. The location is fantastic, lovely neighborhood, walk to shopping and restaurants and easy access to downtown Chicago. We walked to Wrigley Field for a couple of games and entertained guests on the backyard patio. You can park your car and leave it, or come without one. Looking forward to another visit .

Wedding stay

My family and I stayed in 2 of Teri's guest houses for my wedding week. They were fabulous houses...even prettier in person than in the on-line photos. We spent a lot of time in the houses eating, hanging out together, and finalizing plans before the wedding, and it felt like being at home. Actually...much prettier than my own home : ) Bathrooms were spacious and meticulously clean. Beds were all very comfortable and the living and dining areas were covenient and comfortable for sitting around and talking. The neighborhood is beautiful ... tree lined streets near shops and restaurants and the El station. All guests were so pleased by the experience because they were able to see the city and sites by day and relax in an atmosphere that felt like home by night. Thanks Terri!

Great girls weekend getaway!

Every year my girl friends and I pick a new destination for a long weekend in the springtime. This year we chose Chicago and decided to stay at Teri's Chicago Guest House in Wrigleyville. First of all, the house is spacious and beautifully decorated! With seven ladies space can get tight, but the layout of the house made it such that we had plenty of room to relax and get ready for the day. Although we never used the back patio area, it was a nice option for an outside meal or happy hour! The location couldn't have been any better. We were able to walk basically everywhere we wanted to go (Wrigley Field, surrounding shops, the the "L", grocery shopping, etc.) which really saved us time and money. Teri made the checking in and out process very easy, and was extremely accommodating to our group as well. The house also had two other guest houses, and all of the other guests were respectful and pleasant, which made our experience even better. Teri, thanks so much for letting us stay in your lovely guest house and for all of the nice amenities (coffee, tea, spices, toiletries, etc!) I would definitely rent this property again!

What a terrific place to stay! We held a reunion of cousins & all were very impressed by the quality, space, and amenities. The kitchens were extremely well equipped and the bedrooms/baths were clean with nice soaps, etc. (Delighted to find a full jacuzzi in one of the bathrooms!) Lovely site on a quiet street & close to good restaurants & shops. Teri was always available for questions or help whether it was garage door openers or good pizza places! We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Chicago Guest House for your next visit to Chicago.

“Excellent Condo very close to Wrigley Field!”

I just returned from a trip to Chicago with some friends. We like to travel around visiting different baseball stadiums. This year, we decided to visit Wrigley Field and watch the Cubs. Boy are we lucky we found this place. It was AMAZING! 3 levels of comfort and convenience that we enjoyed tremendously. The house is just a few blocks away from Wrigley Field and near tons of bars and restaurants in the heart of Wrigleyville. Our goal was to stay near the field since that was our main purpose for this visit, and this place was just perfect. Each level of the house is wonderfully decorated and funished with very nice things. The owner, Teri, was extremely easy to work with and delivered on everything that she promised. The welcome packets were especially nice being that none of us were very familiar with the city. I would 100% recommend this house to anyone looking to visit Chicago to see the Cubs or be around Wrigleyville. A+!

'Amazing Stay'

I had about 15 family members coming to Chicago in April and Teri's Chicago Guest House could not have been better. My sister, her husband and 5 kids stayed at the Clark Suite. Due to weather, their flight was canceled and we needed to move the days of our stay...Teri was not only extremely flexible but also available to help me with the changes. The condo was in immaculate condition - to the point that Teri even had laundry detergent which is a must for 5 kids. The location was perfect - my sister went for runs on the lake every morning and her kids were thrilled about being able to walk to Wrigley. WIth the condo being in such a great location, my sister and brother-in-law let the older kids (10 and 11) walk around Southport on their own. I live in Chicago but spent more time at the Guest House since it was in such a great location, everything we needed was in the house - we even ended up canceling dinner out one night and grilled out at the condo. My family will be coming back for another visit and the only change we'll be making is instead of just renting 1 of Teri's Guest Houses, we'll be renting 2 so everyone can stay in the same building. I've already recommended Teri's Guest House to friends who have family coming in this summer. Teri was great to work with, answered all questions, allowed us to get in early and extend our stay. It was a great weekend!!

Thanks so much!

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS

"My sisters and nieces have an annual shopping weekend and we meet in Chicago.  We decided this year to try staying in a house instead of hotel rooms.  Best decision we ever made about our annual "shopping weekend".  In fact we have already booked our weekend for next year with Teri.  We had everything we needed and Teri communicates promptly and really appreciates the business.  The accomodations were oustanding and everyone raved about how comfortable the beds are.  The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed and we loved the tea and coffee!  Thanks Teri for sharing your amazing home with us!  We will see you again soon!"

What a wonderful place to stay while in Chicago.

Our stay at the Clark Suite in Wrigleyville,Chicago was absolutely the most wonderful experience for my husband, myself and our 4 friends. All the photos on the Internet match the house perfectly. The house was beautifully decorated. Everything was spic and span and ready for our arrival. Everything we need was furnished and in place for our use. The house made us feel comfortable and right at home. The backyard was landscaped beautifully and we enjoyed sitting outside. All the extra care that was taken and the time that was spent on every detail was very evident. Our stay in Chicago was outstanding. We are still talking about what a fabulous time we had. Never have I been so impressed by such a large city and its welcoming and helpful people. Not only would I recommended Teri and the Clark Suite, I already have and plan to stay there again on our next visit to Chicago. Teri was outstanding, so friendly and very helpful. I just can't say enough about what a great place to stay.

Teri's guest house on Newport is everything we hoped it would be and more

I stayed there last weekend with 12 of my friends, and we couldn't say enough about both the Clarke and Addison apartments. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone. The apartments are attractive and clean. We walked almost everywhere since there is so much to see right in the neighborhood. We especially liked the huge binder of information that Teri left, including extra neighborhood maps, maps of the El, menus from almost every restaurant around and many more helpful tips. Thanks, Teri, for providing the best place to stay. I look forward to bringing my family to Chicago to stay in any of your apartments!

"Birthday Celebration Weekend for Family Turning 70, 50, 40"

For a birthday celebration that brought together family from across the midwest, we chose the to stay at the Newport Avenue Chicago Guest House. We rented both apartments and I have to say we were just blown away with how amazing the property was. It was more beautiful and spacious than the pictures on the website. Having a private outdoor space was an incredible bonus. So was having a garage. The location was perfect. Great neigborhood, lots of great shops, restaurants, grocery stores, Starbucks, etc all within an easy stroll down the block. For visitors, parking was no problem. We had an age range from 5 - 75 staying in the house. All were super comfortable and super satisfied with the choice. Teri's Chicago Guest House is truly an upscale accommodation at really great value. She will forever be my first call when my family has an opportunity to stay in Chicago again. We, and our guests, were just beyond impressed. "

"Great home away from home"

"My family of 4 and another family of 4 shared the Newport Avenue Suite and it was an ideal home base for us while in Chicago for a week-long vacation.  The location is excellent, close access to shops, the train and restaurants (all within a few blocks of the home).  The guest house itself is in excellent condition and

has all of the conveniences of home that you need--clean linens, comfortable beds, loads of towels, access to washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen including ample dishes and drink-ware.  I would highly recommend this property especially for those with children or traveling with family for a comfortable and safe stay."

"This home was beautifully decorated and every amenity we needed was there!  We fit comfortably with 4 adults and 4 children. The kids loved the downstairs bedroom and den, and we loved having some peace and quite upstairs.  The locations can't be beat- walk to great restauraunts, the El train and it's an easy ride to downtown Chicago.  We enjoyed the beautiful achitechture of the home with the georgous hardwood floors.  Having a backyard space was great too.  The home was well stocked and very clean.  The pictures are very accurate and Teri was extremely helpful and attentive.  We will be back!!  "

The listing description and photos were “bang on” regarding this location, layout and the amenities were all great. The property was very clean and well maintained, Terri (our Hostess) was gracious and an unexpected positive addition to our stay. Her knowledge of the area and her attention to detail was greatly appreciated. I would strongly recommend this property to a friend and/or relative and plan on returning again in the near future. Our group used the location (Wrigleyville) as a home base to explore Chicago and take in Cubs games as well as other sporting events and attractions in the greater Chicago area. After several years of Chicago based trips, stepping out of the downtown hotel scene and into Wrigleyville provided a refreshing and different experience. The ease of downtown access by cab or Red Line is very convenient … or you can enjoy the local restaurant and bar scene just a few blocks away. After a busy adventurous day in Chicago, enjoying the relaxing calm nature of the neighborhood is undeniable. Great call!

Four of us from Jr. High celebrated our 35 year reunion in Wrigleyville. We'd not all been together in 30 years! It was absolutely perfect for us! The place is large, well furnished, very clean, has all amenities, beautifully and abundantly decorated with Terri's own paintings (unfortunately, most are NOT for sale!). All we needed was within and easy walk or cheap cab ride away. We had a blast and would definitely recommend and return to this property in the future. I just can't recommend it enough!

Great place for a family attending wedding
Guest: Susan (Redmond, OR)
Date of Stay: July 6, 2010
My daughter was married in Chicago and I rented the guest house for my husband and I as well as my other two children and their families. There was ample room for the 6 adults and three children. We appreciated the two levels so that children could be napping and not disturbed. There was plenty of room to assemble the 17 centerpieces for the wedding. We needed some rather unusual supplies and we found them all at the house. We couldn't have taken care of the children and prepared for the wedding if we had been in hotel rooms. The back yard is lovely and we ate out there and the children played with the hose. Everything we needed was nearby. It was only a block and a half to the El; we took it everywhere we went. We got the groceries we needed at CVS but there will be a huge new grocery store on Southport soon. We enjoyed dining at Deleece and getting a delicious take out dinner from Tango Sur. The grandkids loved Candyality and Anthony's Italian Ice. My children can be critical of my choices sometimes so I worried that they wouldn't like the guesthouse. But, they loved it. It was the best decision I made for the wedding!

Teri was amazing: from letting us check in early and check out late, accepting and storing our groceries a day early (due to my disorganization), to her amazingly comfortable beds, perfect location and room to spare with all of eight of us - she has definitely found herself a group of repeat customers. The Newport Chicago Guest house exceeded our expectations in respect to just how perfect the location was, how much room we would have and how accommodating Teri was. With six of the eight of us being young women - it was great that everyone was loving this house. :)

I stayed at the Clark Suite along with eight other family members. Teri made us all feel very much at home. The condo was beautiful! The place was exactly as it had been described in the listing. This is a perfect place to stay if you wish to get a feel for the neighborhoods of Chicago. The location was outstanding. It is within walking distance to the Southport L train station and to many restaurants and retail stores. We were able to take the train to attractions within the downtown area. My favorite part, being a baseball fan, was staying so close to Wrigley field. If you are a Cubs fan this would be a perfect place to stay when in town attending a game. Chicago is truly a great city and when I return I plan to only stay in one of Teri's properties. Thanks!

What an awesome find this was to serve as our base for 5 guys on a sports trip weekend! We stayed at the Clarke Suite on Newport in September. It's location to Wrigley Field can not be beat. It is only 3-4 blocks away, a ten minute walk to the game. The area has everything you want within a few blocks. This property has it all. It's like never leaving home but 10 times better! From the large bedrooms with great beds to the large eat in kitchen (has everything in it you'd ever need too) to the large clean bathrooms not to mention 2 living rooms with BIG tv's. Even used the outdoor grill and patio area. So nice and quiet out there. We loved everything about Teri's property. What a great place to stay for any occasion. Would stay there again in a heart beat! Thank you Teri!

What more could we have asked for....nothing! This guest house on Newport Ave was wonderful...so tastefully decorated, clean & spacious, fully equipped with all the comforts of home. The information book provided was full of great stuff...especially for out first trip to Chicago! Teri, our host, was very helpful & always a phone call away. The neighborhood was charming, walking distance to everything, convenient to catch the "L" to the city. If you are looking for a quiet, quaint place to stay with everything you'll need for a great vacation....this is the place. Oh, I forgot to mention that we were 4 girlfriends from high school..we wanted a place where we could all be together but have our own beds & privacy! The downstairs bedroom was a large suite. Two upstairs & two down. Perfect! And, we're still friends:) We'll be back!

Teri was a fabulous owner/host and provided my team and I with the most glorious home during our stay in Chicago for an industry conference. The Clarke Suite allowed three of us to live independently, yet be together in the fabulous kitchen. We hosted a client event (12 individuals) and the home was perfect for entertaining. Thank you Teri and we will see you again soon.

My sorority sisters and I stayed at the Chicago Guest House for a second time. This time we stayed at the Clark Suite on Newport Ave. Teri has an amazing talent for making you feel like you NEVER want to leave! The condo is extremely well- appointed with beautiful art and furniture. The kitchen is extremely well stocked (we like to cook) down to the exact spices we needed! I'll warn you, you'll never want to get out of bed as you are warmed by the most luxurious linens and comfy mattresses and pillows! The neighborhood is terrific with great bars, shops, and restaurants. Want to venture further? The "L" stop is just a few blocks away to take you to all the fantastic places in Chicago. Wrigley Field is just 2 blocks away. Teri includes a binder brimming with maps, menus, tours etc. to navigate your way! I can't say enough about this "home away from home". It is SO much better than staying at a hotel...we girls just love to sit around the beautiful living room and laugh and laugh or drink wine in the kitchen as we cook dinner. A PERFECT get-away in the best city in the world!!

Our group of 8 plus a baby absolutely loved our long weekend stay at the Clarke Suite in the Newport Avenue guest house. The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated with very nice furnishings and quality linens. It looks every bit as nice as the pictures on the website. The location was great with a short walk to Wrigley Field and its surrounding bars one way and a short walk to Southport and its great collection of restaurants and shopping on the other. Downtown was just a short ride on the El. We enjoyed having a back yard for hanging out with the family and it was just so cool to have our own house in a cool neighborhood in Chicago for the weekend. Everyone raved about the experience and we intend to head back in summer 2010.

This beautiful home is in an upscale neighborhood close to shops and amazing restaurants. It is spacious, well-appointed with all the amenities. Just north of the hustle and bustle of downtown but close enough to hop on the transit for a short trip to the Loop's active core. Our gracious host provided us with tips on where to go or leaf through her very thorough information binder that is provided at the house. I would go back in a heartbeat and feel no need to source out any other accommodation. Apparently she has two other smaller properties for smaller groups in the same neighborhood. What a refreshing alternative to a hotel room.. I really felt at home. I would definitely recommend this rental unit. Thanks!

A Women's Weekend and Birthday Bash
Guest: Swelegant (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
Date of Stay: October 22, 2009
Five women from Toronto arrived at Teri's Chicago Guest House, Clarke Suite in Wrigleyville in the pouring rain and dark. There to meet us was Teri. She knew it was my 60th birthday weekend and couldn't have been more warm and welcoming. As we walked into the suite there was a collective gasp as we all exclaimed how beautiful the suite was and how it was even better than the photos on the website. This was the beginning of a fabulous weekend stay. Teri has such attention to detail and all of those details are of the highest quality. The furniture is in wonderful shape and in very good taste, the bed linens are clearly 100% Egyptian cotton and the pillows are to die for. We all looked at the tags on the pillows to see where they came from so we could buy some when we got home. There were ample towels for 5 women to use for bathing, etc. The kitchen was stellar and we spent a lot of time in there, congregating in the morning over the gourmet coffee (another thing we wanted to buy as it was so delicious) to having cocktails and snacks in the evening prior to going out for dinner. The kitchen has dinner service including cutlery, glasses, stemware for a massive party if you wanted to have one. The appliances were all stainless steel and included a gas stove and a double refrigerator with ice maker. Better than my kitchen at home. If we hadn't wanted to do so much sight seeing we could have stayed in the apartment all weekend. Teri has a fabulous binder with all the local sites, restaurants, shops etc including very detailed maps. She took time to get us orientated so that when we walked out the door that first night, in the dark and rain, we felt confident about where we were going. The location itself is great. we felt safe and enjoyed the neighborhood atmosphere. Everywhere we went people were friendly and helpful to us. We found the transit system to be very easy to master. We didn't plan in advance and yet every meal was delicious and exactly what we wanted. We took the architectural boat tour and highly recommend it. Chicago is a beautiful city and good for walking. I not only would recommend Teri's Clark Suite but already have. My friends and I have been raving about our trip since we returned and everyone is asking for the link. It would also be great for a family or families as the kitchen and bedroom facilities make travelling with kids so much easier. On top of all this, Teri surprised me with gourmet cupcakes for my birthday. Wonderful.

Wonderful home for celebrating a wedding
Guest: Joyce Mom (Dayton, OH)
Date of Stay: September 3, 2009 Upon arrival to Chicago for celebration of a family wedding, Teri and staff were so helpful and flexible - accommodating in every way. We actually had the wedding rehearsal dinner and an after wedding barbeque at this home. It was perfect. We used both the house and the back yard. It was perfect. The home is beautifully decorated, yet still has that 'at home' feel to it. The arrangement of the rooms allowed for a nice flow and privacy at the same time. The location of the home is also convenient to downtown, the subway and local restaurants, business and shopping. It worked out so well for other out of town guests to visit and congregate and still feel like I was having them at my home. I could not have asked for a better place to welcome all of my friends and family. I feel so lucky to have found this home for such a special time in my life. I would definitely recommend this home for family visits to Chicago.

My wife and I spent a long weekend in the Clark Suite with 3 other couples and the accommodations were fantastic. The pictures on the site don't really do this suite justice as it was better than what we had imagined. You are within a couple of blocks of Wrigley Field, with easy access to the train to go downtown. We would definitely recommend the Chicago Guest Houses to anyone. Teri was great to work with and we will be back in the future.

"WOW! What a place, its not often that you are really impressed with what you get, but our group was amazed at this vacation home. Location was fantastic being so close to Wrigley Field and the Clark St for fun. You can't describe how great this place is and how well taken care of the premises are right down to the artwork and bedding and linens, all class. 12 Oil and Gas guys show up and want to have an excellent place to call home base . thanks Terri for your effort and letting us hang out at your gorgeous home. See you next year. Highly recommended."

“1216 S. Newport is a FANTASTIC and fun value”
Three girlfriends and I had a mini-35 year reunion of our Jr. Hi group over a long weekend and selected Chicago Guest House as our lodging. Terri is a fantastic 'landlady' and hostess! The place is immaculate, comfortable, incredibly well laid out and decorated. We really seldom left the premises except for grocery and liquor store jaunts! All we needed was within an easy walk or cheap (<$6.00) cabfare away. Quiet, intimate, lovely. I can't recommend this place, or Terri, enough. We had a splendid weekend, due in large part to the beautiful and well-equipped accomodations! Thanks, Terri, for a grand experience!

Teri

I just wanted to follow up on our experience at your Newport guesthouse. We loved the place; we loved the location and were just all around totally happy with the experience.

The shower, the wireless internet, the coffee, the “Then and Now” coffee table book, the bicycle (I used it twice and had awesome experiences both times), and the wealth of information that you provided in your binder; all combined to make for a stellar experience for all of us.  We also appreciated your effort to make the A/C situation right, fortunately the weather compensated well in that regard.
I trust that we left everything in order when we departed?

I have to admit that although I am sure Jeff meant well to be in communication with you on our behalf; it kind of set us up for a strange line of communication.  It all worked out fine but I would have normally been a little more in touch with you personally.  It was a nice effort on your part to track us down for a face to face meeting.  I ‘m sure you like to know the people you are renting to.

Were we to stay there for a more prolonged visit (like a whole month) how would pricing work?
I expect to return in the future if you will have us.

Once again, thanks for making our stay in Chi-Town out of this world!

Teri's guest house on Newport is everything we hoped it would be and more.

Our family had the luxury and good fortune to stay at two of Teri's homes in December 2009. We stayed at the Belmont and Addison Suites. Everything was wonderful: the fresh coffee beans in the morning, the well equipped kitchens, the lovely linens, the wonderful Christmas decorations, the beautiful furnished homes and.....I could go on and on.
Because of the close proximity of the two properties, it worked perfectly for our families to walk back and forth. We had the best of both worlds, parking included.
Last but not least, it was so much fun staying in this neighborhood as opposed to Michigan Avenue. Everything we needed and more was on Southport Ave just a short walk from our homes; shopping, a wonderful mix of restaurants and bars, groceries-Wholefoods, liquor stores, a fabulous meat market, several bakeries with wonderful cupcakes, and, again, I could go on and on. If you do want to go to Michigan Avenue or to other neighborhoods the EL(mass transit)is conveniently located walking distance on Southport Ave.
We were so lucky to have found Teri and her properties. We could not have had a better time or better accomodations.
THANK YOU, Teri! We cannot wait to come back to either the Belmont or Addison homes. Hope to see you soon.

The house was the perfect place for our girl's weekend getaway. It was easy to find and provided lots of space to relax. We had three generations of women from 9 to 69 years old and it suited everyone's needs. Thanks for the hospitality!

My sorority sisters and I stayed at the Chicago Guest House for a second time. This time we stayed at the Clark Suite on Newport Ave. Teri has an amazing talent for making you feel like you NEVER want to leave! The condo is extremely well-appointed with beautiful art and furniture. I can't say enough
about this "home away from home". It is SO much better than staying at a hotel...we girls just love to sit around the beautiful living room and laugh and laugh or drink wine in the kitchen as we cook dinner. A PERFECT get-away in the best city in the
world!!

Our experience at the Clarke Suite was outstanding. Teri was a fabulous owner/host and provided my team and I with the most glorious home during our stay in Chicago for an industry conference. The Clarke Suite allowed three of us to live independantly, yet be together in the fabulous kitchen. We hosted a client event (12 individuals) and the home was perfect for entertaining. Thank you Teri and we will see you again soon.

I just wanted to thank you so much for the house! It was better than we even imagined. Also perfectly located for where we needed to be for our business at hand. We will definitely think of you again whether on business or pleasure in Chicago.

We had a delightful time at this fabulous Chicago Guest House. Accommodations are thoughtful and detailed. Nice walking neighborhood to grab a cup of coffee and a bagel for breakfast.

'Fantastic Place'

We stayed in the Lakewood and Newport Ave. guest houses in late August 2011, and had a fabulous time. The houses were gorgeous, comfortable, and in beautiful neighborhoods just a few blocks from a very hip neighborhood with great restaurants, shops, bars, El stop, etc. The owner was amazingly responsive and helpful. She’s assembled binders of information on everything you could possibly want to know about visiting Chicago. The beds were very, very comfortable – with beautiful linens and an assortment of pillows. The owner has provided a full coffee and tea set-up, which we really appreciated. Everything worked perfectly. The furniture, fixtures, artwork, appliances -- everything top-notch. Checking in and out was easy. We’ll definitely stay again. We loved every minute of it and recommend it without any hesitation to anyone visiting Chicago. Thanks, Teri!
