A GREAT place!

Teri,

We loved the townhouse! My friends and i have been doing this for 12 years -- including sometimes at each others' homes or vacation homes of people we know. the wrigleyville/lakewood house gets a big thumbs up as one of the best. thank you!

You've got it stocked really nicely -  I don't think there was anything we lacked -- or at least nothing we'd expect from the owner. I's warm and cozy and we really enjoyed ourselves. The outside patio tables look like the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon. all the directions and guidelines were helpful and clear. thanks!

Thank you again. We had a memorable and happy get away weekend. Your home provided a wonderful setting.

All the best,

Lisa S.

"Fabulous Way to Stay in Chicago"

Having recently moved from Chicago I was back for a weekend in the city for a celebration. Chicago Guest House provided such a fun way to stay in the city - in the heart of a great neighborhood - close to shopping and restaurants on Southport - with other neighborhoods and downtown easily accessibly via car, cab, public transit. The entire property was amazing and the Shoreline Suite was so well done - would definitely recommend.

Wonderful Wrigley Suite"

Coming from a hospitality profession, I strongly believe that service is what distinguishes two businesses apart. Not only does Teri provide remarkable service working with guests, but her home is so beautifully furnished that her guest service and home property share an equal incredible quality. It is a vary rare occasion that my large family has the opportunity to get together. This past weekend, my whole family was able to connect in Chicago for three nights at Teri's wonderful Wrigley Suite and we couldn't have been at more ease. Before arriving at the property Teri is extremely responsive to aiding in setting up your trip; she sends you a thorough, nicely organized information packet about what's at the home, how to get there (from all directions!), activities around town, parking, etc. Teri is always quick to pick up her phone or respond via email with any additional questions. Moreover, she is more than willing to work with guests on additional amenity requests and does so with a warm inviting attitude. Finally, the property itself is gorgeous -very nicely maintained, spacious, up-to-date appliances, clean, ready to go for each party and located in the perfect spot of Lake View. The street the house is on is sandwiched between two main streets: Southport with the grocery store, a line of awesome boutiques and restaurants and Clark Street notorious for a great nightlife scene and where Wrigley field is! All in all, I highly recommend Teri's property as she is a wonderful hospitality professional keeping up an outstanding property.

My son, Jared married Joan (from Chicago) in August 2011. Our entire family and members of the wedding family rented the Newport House for 4 days of celebration. As a decorator, I was initially impressed with how spacious and well decorated the houses were but soon was aware of how thoughtfully appointed they were. The
solid, period construction was the perfect backdrop for this wonderful and important time for our family. Jared's dad is a chef and he was able, with help from Josh and Mike (accomplished gourmets themselves) to prepare fantastic meals for us -from breakfasts to cocktail parties on the back patio to the roast pork and broiled salmon rehearsal dinner. The kitchens were extremely well equipped. The guys had everything they needed. I had brought along my ipod with some special songs for the happy couple and was pleased to find a player. The wi fi was invaluable,
especially at the end of our trip when we were anxious for information about flooding from Irene in our home state of Vermont. There was even a printer. I created the bridal and bridesmaid's bouquets and the laundry room, complete with large sink and stainless steel table were invaluable. The beds were very comfortable and appreciated after jam packed days...I even checked the maker of the pillows I liked them so much- Wamsutta. We had a fabulous time. Wonderful family time, so important as we are now spread all over the country. We are already talking about a
reunion trip to Chicago (the boys all loved the proximity to Wrigley Field) and we would never consider any place but on of Teri's gorgeous houses. We can't wait to come back.

Teri-
I think my dad let you know through the review process that we had a wonderful time staying at your property, but I just wanted to reiterate how comfortable we all were there - even (especially) the little ones!  What a gorgeous home and awesome location.  I was curious as to whether you are the artist?  I LOVE the flower print on the main level across from the front door...Thank you again, if we ever reunion again in Chicago we will look you up!!!!

“Elegant, modern, warm, and comfortable!”

My friends and I were planning our trip to Chicago for the Marathon and wanted to stay together instead of in separate hotel rooms. The photographs of the Addison Suite on Teri's website as well as the amenities provided sold us on renting her Guest House on Newport Avenue. When we arrived, we were thrilled as the photos did not do it justice! The furniture, paint colors, and decore are modern, classic, warm and elegant. We loved all the special touches that made us feel we were staying in a friend's home not a rental. The neighborhood is beautiful and quaint, with all the conveniences within a short walk...excellent food, great pubs, local markets, Starbucks, and the EL...all of which were conveniently described in the information binder Teri prepared. We all agreed that this is the Guest House we will return to when we visit Chicago again!!

"Helped create an amazing wedding weekend!"

We rented out two Chicago Guest Houses, the Newport Ave and Henderson St. properties, for friends and family visiting Chicago for our wedding. Both houses were beautiful - modern kitchens, incredibly comfortable beds, cozy living rooms - and it was so nice to hang out all together and be together for meals rather than in separate, individual hotel rooms. Teri, the owner/ manager, was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the process, from booking to checkout. On that Thursday, 35 of us (most of whom were staying at the guest houses) went to a Cubs game at Wrigley and it was so nice to be able to walk over to the field and not have to pay for parking. There are also a number of great restaurants in walking distance, as well as other things that came in handy: grocery stores, tailors, etc. Most of our guests weren't from Chicago and they really enjoyed being in this neighborhood in particular. We hosted our rehearsal dinner and an open mic night on Friday at the Newport house, and it worked great. We used the grill in the backyard and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. Overall, we had an amazing time and can't recommend these houses and Teri enough!

“Outstanding rental”

This place was amazing. The condo is beautiful, immaculate and convenient to everything. It is well-stocked and very spacious. It is nestled in a vibrant and interesting neighborhood with friendly neighbors and great shopping. Teri made arrival and checkout super easy and clearly takes great pride in her rentals. We can't imagine staying anywhere else when we come back. Don't miss out on this rental!

"Southporte Suite"

We cannot say enough about how incredible this property was to rent. It was immaculate, beautiful and in the heart of a great neighborhood. The condo was well-stocked, comfortable and really spacious. Teri made everything very simple upon arrival and checkout. We had off-street parking, friendly neighbors and were only 1 block from the train stop. In any direction you could walk and absorb the great, vibrant community, not to mention catch a cubs game. Having been to Chicago many times, we are now certain that we would not stay anywhere else other than one of her condos.

Great girls weekend getaway!

Every year my girl friends and I pick a new destination for a long weekend in the springtime. This year we chose Chicago and decided to stay at Teri's Chicago Guest House in Wrigleyville. First of all, the house is spacious and beautifully decorated! With seven ladies space can get tight, but the layout of the house made it such that we had plenty of room to relax and get ready for the day. Although we never used the back patio area, it was a nice option for an outside meal or happy hour! The location couldn't have been any better. We were able to walk basically everywhere we wanted to go (Wrigley Field, surrounding shops, the the "L", grocery shopping, etc.) which really saved us time and money. Teri made the checking in and out process very easy, and was extremely accommodating to our group as well. The house also had two other guest houses, and all of the other guests were respectful and pleasant, which made our experience even better. Teri, thanks so much for letting us stay in your lovely guest house and for all of the nice amenities (coffee, tea, spices, toiletries, etc!) I would definitely rent this property again!

“Beautiful home, great location”

We loved staying at the Chicago Guest House. It is a beautiful building, offered many amenities, and was comfortable for all of us. The location is fantastic, lovely neighborhood, walk to shopping and restaurants and easy access to downtown Chicago. We walked to Wrigley Field for a couple of games and entertained guests on the backyard patio. You can park your car and leave it, or come without one. Looking forward to another visit .

Home Away From Home

My Family of six thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Clark Suite. This place had everything we needed and was within walking distance of great shops, restaurants, wrigleyfield, the train, and groceries. Basically anything you needed was within 4 blocks. We drove from southeast Iowa, parked in the garage, and the van never left those 3 days. The Suite was very clean, and tastefully decorated. We loved the kitchen and grill/patio area out back. The neighborhood is quiet and very pretty! We can't wait to plan our next trip, and we would stay at any of Teri's homes when we travel to Chicago next. She is great to work with! Everything was easily understood and she has thought of every answer to any question you might have. Teri provided a huge binder of nearby restaurants (most with menus), Chicago attractions, transportation maps, etc. It was very helpful and we used it a lot! Would recommend this suite to anyone! Love it here.

Kate G.

What a terrific place to stay! We held a reunion of cousins & all were very impressed by the quality, space, and amenities. The kitchens were extremely well equipped and the bedrooms/baths were clean with nice soaps, etc. (Delighted to find a full jacuzzi in one of the bathrooms!) Lovely site on a quiet street & close to good restaurants & shops. Teri was always available for questions or help whether it was garage door openers or good pizza places! We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Chicago Guest House for your next visit to Chicago.

“Great Place to Stay”
We loved the Lakeview Suite. Everything was in order when we arrived and it was a great place for our family to stay while visiting Chicago. Very clean, well supplied and all we needed to do was unpack and have fun!

"Me and the boys had a BLAST!!!!"
Just got back from Chicago on a boys golf trip. There were 10 of us and we occupied the first two floors. I planned the trip and was a bit nervous about the place since we stayed in a hotel the previous year, but that was the problem I had with last year, we were all in hotel rooms and didn't really hang out. This place was AWESOME!!! We were all able to hang out in the living room and watch the games and just chill until it was time to hit the town. The location was great. We walked to Wrigley for a game one night and then partied in the area surrounding. A couple guys made breakfast one morning in the good sized kitchen. I asked all the guys and they all gave it a two thumbs up, even the guys who had to share rooms......so that made me look like a hero..... Thanks Teri....it was an A+ time.....oh....and the golf wasn't bad either....

"Second stay in the Southport Suite"

My family had another great visit at the Southport Suite in Chicago. Our first experience was so positive we felt fortunate to be able to reserve this location a second time. With two and a half baths, decks off the kitchen and Master bedroom and a very well stocked kitchen with dishes, a variety of glassware, pots and pans and serving pieces, it is the perfect environment for family and friends to meet and relax. Parking is made worry free with the garage and parking passes. Internet access is also available. The house is sparkling clean, warm and inviting. The location is close to shopping and restaurants. One of the helpful items in the house is a very complete guide to restaurants, stores, museums and events in the area. So for tourists it makes day trips easy. We would highly recommend this condo and its owner to friends and family. We look forward to our next opportunity to stay there.

Lois L."Great girls weekend house!"

There were 6 of us that spent a long weekend at the guest house and it was just amazing! The house is beautifully decorated, comfortably furnished, and so close to everything in the city! The house had great flat screen tvs and a stereo system was very clean and well stocked with towels, toiletries, etc. We walked all around the Southport/Wrigleyville area and there are a ton of great bars/restaurants/shops to keep you busy. We are planning a trip back up to Chicago and will without a doubt stay here again!

A great experience for our team

I have to start by saying thank you! My team of 11 colleagues stayed at the Chicago Guest House this past month and absolutely loved it. Every day we were working in elementary schools, and I was happy that we could all come home and have plenty of time and space to shower and feel comfortable. Between the four floors in the house, we had plenty of beds, bedrooms, and bathrooms for all of us. And don’t forget to check out the Jacuzzi in the basement! Amazing. The kitchens were beautiful, and very helpful for when we made breakfasts and lunches every day. Having a washer and dryer was an extra bonus my team was thankful for considering our heat wave that week! All week, we used three large vehicles, and were happy that two of them fit in the garage behind the house. Teri was nice enough to supply a visitor parking pass for the 3rd vehicle, which worked perfectly. But if not for our work at elementary schools, we wouldn’t have needed the vehicles! The neighborhood is incredible – we went to a Cubs game while there, and walked to Jewel-Osco, CVS, Whole Foods, etc. Everything was easily accessible and safe. And lastly, we loved using the back patio area. Every night we had a team meeting, and that was the perfect setting for us to come together and talk about our day. The Chicago Guest House was extremely comfortable for our team, and I’d recommend it for anyone. Thanks again to Teri for the great stay in Chicago!

"BEST WAY TO STAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Its like being home in a different city. Comfortable, clean, location, location, location. This house has it all. Great kitchen. Everything you need!

"A Wonderful stay at the Chicago Guest House"

Without exception, this home was one of the best we have stayed in. We slept each night in comfort and woke to our beautiful surroundings. The backyard area was comfortable and quaint. So close to great restaurants and the "L", we were perfectly set. Thank you, Teri, for opening your wonderful home to us. We had a perfect time!

“Excellent Condo very close to Wrigley Field!”

I just returned from a trip to Chicago with some friends. We like to travel around visiting different baseball stadiums. This year, we decided to visit Wrigley Field and watch the Cubs. Boy are we lucky we found this place. It was AMAZING! 3 levels of comfort and convenience that we enjoyed tremendously. The house is just a few blocks away from Wrigley Field and near tons of bars and restaurants in the heart of Wrigleyville. Our goal was to stay near the field since that was our main purpose for this visit, and this place was just perfect. Each level of the house is wonderfully decorated and funished with very nice things. The owner, Teri, was extremely easy to work with and delivered on everything that she promised. The welcome packets were especially nice being that none of us were very familiar with the city. I would 100% recommend this house to anyone looking to visit Chicago to see the Cubs or be around Wrigleyville. A+!

"Chicago Spring Break April 2011"

My family and I recently stayed in the Southport suite. The house was absolutely beautiful. We loved every room in the house. We didn't need to bring anything but our clothes. Teri provided two cribs, baby gates and a high chair, which any parent knows having to bring all of those things is such a hassle, so the fact that those items were already there made our lives so much easier. The area that the house was located in was very clean and safe. The subway system was very close by so we didn't need to use our car to get around town. I loved everything so much it made me want to move to chicago and buy a home. Our family would definately recommend staying in any of the homes that Chicago Guest House has to offer. We can't wait to come back.

Thanks Terri

'Amazing Stay'

I had about 15 family members coming to Chicago in April and Teri's Chicago Guest House could not have been better. My sister, her husband and 5 kids stayed at the Clark Suite. Due to weather, their flight was canceled and we needed to move the days of our stay...Teri was not only extremely flexible but also available to help me with the changes. The condo was in immaculate condition - to the point that Teri even had laundry detergent which is a must for 5 kids. The location was perfect - my sister went for runs on the lake every morning and her kids were thrilled about being able to walk to Wrigley. WIth the condo being in such a great location, my sister and brother-in-law let the older kids (10 and 11) walk around Southport on their own. I live in Chicago but spent more time at the Guest House since it was in such a great location, everything we needed was in the house - we even ended up canceling dinner out one night and grilled out at the condo. My family will be coming back for another visit and the only change we'll be making is instead of just renting 1 of Teri's Guest Houses, we'll be renting 2 so everyone can stay in the same building. I've already recommended Teri's Guest House to friends who have family coming in this summer. Teri was great to work with, answered all questions, allowed us to get in early and extend our stay. It was a great weekend!!

Thanks so much!

"great choice for family stays"

"My extended family and I shared the top two floors of this building over Thanksgiving weekend, and it was really a great choice! First of all, the apartments were sparkling clean, with coffee, soap and other little amenities thoughtfully provided.  The beds were comfortable and there was even a crib available for my baby niece (as well as a high chair, which we didn't use). Teri was always available on the phone, and accurately answered all our questions with friendliness and warmth. For our family, it was a much better--and much less expensive--choice than a hotel. "

"My sisters and nieces have an annual shopping weekend and we meet in Chicago.  We decided this year to try staying in a house instead of hotel rooms.  Best decision we ever made about our annual "shopping weekend".  In fact we have already booked our weekend for next year with Teri.  We had everything we needed and Teri communicates promptly and really appreciates the business.  The accomodations were oustanding and everyone raved about how comfortable the beds are.  The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed and we loved the tea and coffee!  Thanks Teri for sharing your amazing home with us!  We will see you again soon!"

For a birthday celebration that brought together family from across the midwest, we chose the to stay at the Newport Avenue Chicago Guest House. We rented both apartments and I have to say we were just blown away with how amazing the property was. It was more beautiful and spacious than the pictures on the website. Having a private outdoor space was an incredible bonus. So was having a garage. The location was perfect. Great neigborhood, lots of great shops, restaurants, grocery stores, Starbucks, etc all within an easy stroll down the block. For visitors, parking was no problem. We had an age range from 5 - 75 staying in the house. All were super comfortable and super satisfied with the choice. Teri's Chicago Guest House is truly an upscale accommodation at really great value. She will forever be my first call when my family has an opportunity to stay in Chicago again. We, and our guests, were just beyond impressed. "

"A Unanimous YES!"

"What a wonderful experience!  This is the third time I've stayed at the Chicago Guest House and I have never been disappointed.  The beds are comfortable, the house was well supplied with whatever you could need, the space was more than adequate and the ambiance was charming.  My friends and I enjoyed the shopping in the immediate area (just two blocks from where we stayed).  We did our part to stimulate the economy!  We patronized 3 of the local restaurants and the food was spectacular at a very reasonable price.  The choices of cuisine were varied and one could find a type to please every palate.  We had several questions about various things and Teri was always accessible to solve our issue, ie: the computer network, taxi access, TV.  The only negative aspect of this facility is the steps.  Although the four of us are in our 60's we had no problem with them. However, if you have difficulty with steps this might not be your best choice.  In conclusion, I just can't say enough positive things.  We're already planning our next year's vacation and the Chicago Guest House is our choice for accommodations."

Perfect Place

"My husband and I stayed with friends at this property and the apartment and the location were both fantastic! The apartment was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Everything was updated and well equipped. It was nice to come “home” to at the end of a long day of shopping and sightseeing rather than going to a hotel room. The neighborhood was quaint, clean, and safe. We were just a couple of blocks from bars/pubs, restaurants, and boutique shopping. Taxis were easy to find and the train was about 5 blocks away. We couldn’t have asked for a better location!
Teri was fabulous to work with and was so personable and accommodating. I would definitely stay at this properly again and will be telling others about it!

"An amazing property"

"Magnificent property! Exceeded all expectations. Teri provided precise instructions for getting in from the airport (train and bus) and when she let us into the unit we were blown away. Gorgeous woodwork and built-ins. Three bedrooms (comfy beds), two baths (stocked with lotions, soaps and shampoos) compact fully functional kitchen with laundry, large dining room, ample living room with cable TV and stereo and a patio out back with gas grill. Teri is a superb hostess. She took the time to answer our questions and provided a binder of info on the area as well. Located three blocks west of Wrigley, we had easy access to trains (red and brown lines) and buses (you really don't want to drive in Chicago, do you? If you must, Teri has parking). Beautiful, safe neighborhood, good places to eat within short walking distance. The condo was spotless, exceptionally well stocked (enough fluffy towels for twice our number) and we felt right at home in its relaxing atmosphere before we even got our carry-ons unpacked. We will be back on our next visit (go, Cubbies!) and heartily recommend this property. "

As someone who travels frequently, and tends to stay at upscale hotels, rental condos and resorts, it takes a lot to impress me.  This past weekend my family and I stayed at the Southport Suite in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood.  I was not only impressed, I was totally amazed.

First, the suite itself was gorgeous.  The decorating is warm and inviting, and the layout is extremely comfortable, from the large living room, to the stylish dining room, to the well equipped kitchen, to the comfortable bedrooms on the upper level, to the cozy study with a leather wrap around couch.  It was like walking into a house on a tour of designer homes, or staying at your wealthy uncle’s house while he is out of town.  There were no shortcuts: there was a beautiful walk in shower and a jetted tub.

Secondly, the suite was so well furnished and equipped, that I could not think of one thing that I had at my own house that was not available to me at the suite.  There was every possible kitchen tool that one might need.  There were high-end pots and pans and knives, and even TWO fondue sets.  There were high chairs and cribs in the closets, and even a humidifier.  There were basic (and some not so basic) spices in the cupboard.  It was not that sterile feeling that one often gets at other rental condos, where the only things there are second hand pots and pans, flimsy cutlery and salt pepper and sugar.

Thirdly, the neighborhood cannot be beat.  The area along Southport is a vibrant area with great shops and restaurants.  There is easy access to the subway, and great food stores.  The suite is located in a beautiful neighborhood on a block with stately homes.  There are two decks that are furnished with a table and chairs on one, and with deck chairs on the other.

Finally, things could not have been easier dealing with Teri to make the reservation, coordinate the arrival, and handle the departure.  The guide book in the unit has more information than one could ever digest, with sections on restaurants by cuisine, shopping, things to do in Chicago and in the neighborhood, useful tips like daily specials at all of the nearby restaurants, menus from most restaurants, a multitude of local and city maps and personal favorites from Teri.

This experience left me with the same feeling that you get when you arrive at the airport and find out that you have been upgraded to first class.   I will definitely return when in Chicago.

"Chicago marathon stay 2010 - to be recommended"

"I stayed in this house as a group of 8 friends to attend the Chicago marathon. We stay in houses and apartments for marathons all round the world and this is one of the better ones we have used. The booking process was very easy and Teri responds quickly to enquiries.
The location is perfect. It is close to both red and brown lines which makes getting into the city very easy.  The house is even closer to the train than it looks on the map.
Travelling from O'Hare is very easy, we arrived by train and bus using the instructions provided by Teri and it was an easy journey even with suitcases.

The house itself is larger than it looks in the photos and I knew as soon as we walked through the door that we had made the right choice. The bedrooms are comfortable with heaps of wardrobe/drawer space. Even with 8 in the house we had room to eat and relax comfortably. My impression from the web site was that the house might be a bit cramped and slightly old fashioned, but quite the opposite, it far exceeds its description.  There is a large basement laundry area which suited our needs as we had lots of sweaty running kit to wash and dry. The local area has lots of nice bars and restaurants and the large grocery store opening a block away will be a useful addition. We had a great meal at an Argentinian restaurant round the corner. Lots of coffee shops as well.

The property was very clean, with nice furniture and crockery, and there were lots of towels not just one each, which also makes life easier.
I would definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as an ideal place to stay when visiting Chicago. It is the sort of house I could happily live in permanently."

"The listing description and photos were “bang on” regarding this location, layout and the amenities were all great.
The property was very clean and well maintained, Terri (our Hostess) was gracious and an unexpected positive addition to our stay.  Her knowledge of the area and her attention to detail was greatly appreciated.  I would strongly recommend this property to a friend and/or relative and plan on returning again in the near future.
Our group used the location (Wrigleyville) as a home base to explore Chicago and take in Cubs games as well as other sporting events and attractions in the greater Chicago area.
After several years of Chicago based trips, stepping out of the downtown hotel scene and into Wrigleyville provided a refreshing and different experience.  The ease of downtown access by cab or Red Line is very convenient … or you can enjoy the local restaurant and bar scene just a few blocks away.   After a busy adventurous day in Chicago, enjoying the relaxing calm nature of the neighborhood is undeniable.

Great call!

We stayed for an all-to-brief week in August, when the city was hot, and the house was wonderfully cool. It's fully and very comfortably equipped, quiet, spacious and spotless.
West Henderson Street is a perfect location. This elegant tree-lined street is classy and convenient, being yards from the boutiques and bistros on Southport, and a short walk from the El, which can take you directly downtown. We also walked from the house to the lakeshore and then along to the Navy Pier, with wonderful views of the city.

"The Best of Wrigleyville"

"WOW! What a place, its not often that you are really impressed with what you get, but our group was amazed at this vacation home. Location was fantastic being so close to Wrigley Field and the Clark St for fun. You can't describe how great this place is and how well taken care of the premises are right down to the artwork and bedding and linens, all class. 12 Oil and Gas guys show up and want to have an excellent place to call home base . thanks Terri for your effort and letting us hang out at your gorgeous home. See you next year. Highly recommended."

Teri,

My family had a great time while staying at your guest house on Lakewood St. I stopped by a few times while I was getting ready for my wedding on August 28th, and the house was a perfect fit for everyone in town. Thanks again for providing a great place for my extended family to stay together. It was a great location, all the rooms were very nicely decorated, and it had plenty of room for 20 people (age 9 months to 82 years) to relax, socialize, and sleep comfortably for the long weekend.

9/21/2010

Teri,

I want to thank for your having such a marvelous place that we were able to use.  I was concerned about parking the extended van but that worked out fine.  When I spoke with my daughters after they met you for the keys and you worked around all our various arrivals it was the start of a perfect stay.  The place was spectular!  It was also comfortable and the first floor unit was great for the seniors and the visitors.  I made the trek to the 3rd floor many times and it was really a nice arrangement for all of us.  We were able to travel by vehicle, or public transportation to where ever we needed, and have small groups go their ways.  We attended a Cubs game and it was great!  While we are Phillies fans, the ability to walk to the house in less steps than we needed to get to our cars in Philly was unique.  We have had many comments about how well the accommodations were and several asking if we would be going back, which is never out of the question!

Thank you for your hospitality and friendliness.  It was greatly appreciated.

"Outstanding Location, Beautiful Home"

After a spectacular long-weekend spent at Teri's guest house, I can say without a doubt that visitors should look no further than the Newport suite. The location (walking distance from Wrigley Field), the amenities, etc. exceeded all of my expectations. Highly recommended!  "Great Place for a Great Group! Place was fantastic. Everything you need, All in a modern, comfortable feel. Great Backyard as well. Looks better than the pictures. Would recommend to my best friend."

Hi Teri,
Just wanted to let you know we enjoyed our stay at your house a few weeks ago.  It was just perfect.  Wish we had more time to explore the neighborhood but our schedule was quite full.  Hope we get to do it another time.

Thanks,

  Judy

Four of us from Jr. High celebrated our 35 year reunion in Wrigleyville. We'd not all been together in 30 years! It was absolutely perfect for us! The place is large, well furnished, very clean, has all amentities, beautifully and abundantly decorated with Terri's own paintings (unfortunately, most are NOT for sale!). All we needed was within and easy walk or cheap cab ride away. We had a blast and would definately recommend and return to this property in the future. I just can't recommend it enough!"

" My daughter was married in Chicago and I rented the guest house for my husband and I as well as my other two children and their families.  There was ample room for the 6 adults and three children.  We appreciated the two levels so that children could be napping and not disturbed.  There was plently of room to assemble the 17 centerpieces for the wedding.  We needed some rather unusual supplies and we found them all at the house.  We couldn't have taken care of the children and prepared for the wedding if we had been in hotel rooms.
The back yard is lovely and we ate out there and the children played with the hose.  Everything we needed was nearby.  It was only a block and a half to the El; we took it everywhere we went.  We got the groceries we needed at CVS but there will be a huge new grocery store on Southport soon.  We enjoyed dining at Deleece and getting a delicious take out dinner from Tango Sur.  The grandkids loved Candyality and Anthony's Italian Ice.
My children can be critical of my choices sometimes so I worried that they wouldn't like the guesthouse.  But, they loved it.  It was the best decision I made for the wedding!  "

Hi Teri,

I'm sorry we never got to connect while we were in town but, I wanted to let you know how much we appreciated staying at your Lakewood guest house. We had a wonderful vacation and plenty of room for everyone in the family to relax at night.  This was so much better than staying at a hotel.  You have a great business.  We loved all the extra touches, the wonderful coffee, having essentials on hand, etc.  We had a wonderful time.
Thanks so much!

Amy

A note of thanks for the wonderful weekend we just had on Lakewood Ave.  The house was beautiful and had everything we could imagine needing plus some.  This was a terrific place to have a little family reunion.  We, our children and grandchildren (4 families) were all together. Lakewood Ave. gave us "together time" we could not have had in hotel rooms.  We had plenty of space to visit and hang out together after the little ones were put to bed. We took lots of pictures that will remind us of the beautiful house as well as our good times.  A short walk took us through a lovely neighborhood to some great restaurants and our 4 year old grandson was thrilled to have his picture taken with the Cubs "Cubby Bear" mascot in front of Wrigley field.  Lots of good memories.  Thanks for a great stay!  We will happily recommend your guesthouse to friends and who want to visit Chicago

A must stay property in Wrigleyville"

"We had the good fortune of staying in Teri's Wrigley suite in Wrigleyville, we had 2 families of four and everyone had a great time and are all looking forward to returning in the near future. The home was great and well cared for, everyone had plenty of room to relax and enjoy. This is a great location with easy access to the subway and also Wrigley field. Teri was a joy to work with and very accomodating, providing plenty of info of the surrounding area and things to do. I look forward to returning again and staying longer this time to take in more of the local flavor."

Terry M.  "Another incredible stay at Chicago Guest House"

"What's to be said that hasn't already been said? Teri's Chicago Guest House rentals are some of the classiest, homiest, friendliest, comfiest, easiest places you can stay, not only in Chicago but in any major city. The location is the best, the facilities match and exceed the photos you see online, Teri is very easy to deal with. It's just a first class operation all the way.

I'm a pretty picky traveler and on our most recent trip we traveled with our doctor friend and his wife. Since I had planned the trip, I was nervous but hopeful that our friends would enjoy the Chicago Guest House accommodations as much as we had on a previous visit to Chicago. I had no need to worry. They were blown away - and they are not typically very effusive in their praise of anything.  We are all fairly well traveled and all agreed that this was our best trip in recent years and Teri's Chicago Guest house played a big role in that experience.  There is no need to stay on Michigan Avenue, in fact I'd say you're really missing out if you do. I've stayed at some of the best, including recently at the Trump Tower which is a spectacular place, but none of them compare to the total experience at Chicago Guest House.

Reasons to stay at Chicago Guest House:
1) You want to stay in a real Chicago neighborhood on your Chicago visit.
2) You want to be within easy walking/El distance of everything.
3) You love first class and comfortable decor, bedding, furnishing.
4) You love art and classy interior design.
5) You like to have a little room to spread out when you travel.
6) You like to deal with helpful friendly people when you travel.
7) You're taking a guys trip or couples trip to Wrigley Field.
8) You're a drunk and like to be able to stumble home from one of a hundred bars without having to take a cab or drive.
9) You love walking a block or two to cool neighborhood bars and restaurants.
10) You're traveling with a group and want to have a living area, back porch, yard, deck, etc. to congregate, chat, BBQ, smoke cigars, drink beers, etc.

Reason's to avoid Chicago Guest House:
1) You have to have a spa in your hotel (there are several a block or two away though).
2) You have to have a concierge (although Teri's very helpful and has cool books with tons of info in each apartment).
3) You don't like to have fun.

Try it folks, I promise you'll love it!!!

A colleague and I stayed in Teri's Henderson Street home for 5 nights in April while attending a national conference.  I cannot begin to describe what a wonderful experience it was.  The home was clean, well appointed and made me feel like I was home every time I walked through the door.  From the serene and comfy bedrooms to the modern bath and kitchen facilities to the cozy living room and guest-welcoming dining room, I would definitely stay here again  and again.  Teri not only provides the place, but her personal attention and service are something I have never experienced before.  My laundry was picked up and delivered within 24 hours (for free!), she dropped off an extra key when I thought I had lost mine (and she was gracious enough to assuage my guilt over it!) and having a place to call home allowed me to entertain my niece (who lives in Chicago) and a friend for dinner.  If all this were not enough, the house is within 2 blocks of the brown line, within walking distance of Wrigley Field and offers tons of restaurants within blocks.  There is even a place to buy wine and spirits around the corner and the Whole Foods is a short walk through a safe, clean and chic neighborhood.  Were I to move to Chicago I would only be so lucky as to be able to live in Teri's guesthouse.  I cannot recommend it highly enough.  Thanks Teri for making me feel more like family than a "guest" in your house."

Terri, thanks for making our stay in Chicago a wonderful one.  I had five board members attend the National School Board Conference and we used the time together at the Chicago Guest House to plan for our next year.  The rooms were beautiful.  The layout is perfect for gatherings and also perfect for people to have their ‘alone’ time.  The parking was very good and the location is out of sight!  1 ½ blocks to the subway, 1 ½ blocks to Wrigley and 1-2 blocks to hundreds of different eating establishments.  Your treatment of our group was professional and kind.  We found everything we needed and you had many items as perks.  This was the best stay my group has ever had!

Thanks,

Ricky L.

Hi Teri,
Just a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay. We loved your home and the cozyness it brought to our Chicago stay.
Thanks so much for everything, and we will definately be back, hopefully this summer.
Best of luck and someday, get in your car and go visit your sis :)

Thanks

Marion, Megan and Zach

Hi Teri,
Just wanted to drop a note and let you know what a wonderful time we had staying at the Chicago Guest House.  It really made our otherwise stressful week.  We were excited to discover a whole new neighborhood!  We'll definitely pass it on to any friends that might be touring as well.

First off, for perspective, I LOVE to travel. But so often you go to a place and miss the essence of what you came for. Chicago - everything you read says "you must experience the neighborhoods" ... so why not LIVE in one of the special neighborhoods?
I did, stayed at the Chicago Guest House - Belmont Suite, and it was a super experience! I have to admit my goal was to be in that neighborhood, but to my delight, the Chicago Guest House was so special that I actually made another trip because I loved it so much. The accomodations were beautiful and welcoming (imagine walking in to fresh flowers on the table with beautiful music playing) and everything I could have wished for was provided (things I wouldn't even have thought of ... shopping cart to go to local grocery, picnic supplies, three kinds of wine glasses...). I'll be back! ..and did I say I loved the neighborhood? friendly people, restaurants and businesses, and easy public transportation to anywhere else in the city you want to go (including the airport)

If you are travelling to chicago and want all the comforts of home i cannot recommend this apartment highly ehough . it was an absolute delight - spacious, clean, cosy and comfortable. teri was the best host; she and her house book of local information deserve an award. do yourself a favour and stay here next time you go to chicago - you will be glad you did!

I wanted to live in the apartment forever! it was pure bliss - warm, welcoming, very clean and, well located. teri was the perfect hostess who provided a wealth of information on arrival and who obviously enjoys her job. i will definitely be recommending the apartment to friends and family and, to those of you reading this, do it! contact teri, you will not be sorry.

I have stayed three times at two different apartments that Terri owns and have been overwhelmed by how beautiful and well-maintained
the properties are. Her hospitality and cooperation only adds to the pleasant stays I have had in Chicago those three times. I look forward to staying wh her in as many future trips as possible.
